Etiquette Coach: Teaching Ardah Begins with Instilling Identity Before Carrying the Sword
Saudi etiquette coach Nasser Al-Oujan emphasized that the Saudi Ardah is no longer limited to being a form of folk performance; rather, it has become a means to solidify national identity, assert presence, and preserve cultural heritage.
In televised remarks on Al-Ekhbariya channel, Al-Oujan explained that instilling the values of Ardah begins in childhood, stressing the importance of introducing the child to the art of responses, how to speak with men, and how to introduce himself using his full name, in addition to understanding the principle of 'a word and its reply cover it,' which helps cement identity through appearance and behavior.

He added that this knowledge should precede learning the Ardah itself, noting that this art has a specific composition, as the child must be able to carry the sword correctly and memorize the words of the Ardah before practicing it.
