The emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Medina region succeeded today in reviving the pulse of a 52-year-old Indian Umrah performer after she suffered sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest while near the Baqi' wall, with a response time of 50 seconds.

The Acting Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Medina region, Dr. Omar bin Hussein Al-Attas, explained that the rapid arrival of emergency teams and early intervention contributed - with God's grace - to saving the Umrah performer's life and restoring her pulse. He affirmed that the emergency teams in the central area operate around the clock according to operational plans that ensure rapid response and provision of emergency care to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque.

The emergency teams attended to the case immediately upon arrival, finding that the Umrah performer had suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest. The necessary emergency procedures were applied and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was initiated until her pulse was restored and her condition stabilized initially.

Dr. Al-Attas added that these cases emphasize the importance of rapid reporting of emergencies and early emergency intervention, and their effective role in increasing survival chances. He praised the readiness and professionalism of the emergency personnel in dealing with critical cases, especially during times of high visitor and worshiper density.

After her pulse was restored, the Umrah performer was transferred to Bab Jibril Health Center to complete the necessary medical care.
