The Royal Commission for Riyadh City continues to implement the development project of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road (northern section), by starting development works at its intersection with the Northern Ring Road, which includes the construction of three bridges, as part of completing the project phases aimed at improving the efficiency of one of the most important traffic axes in the north of the capital.

The Commission explained that the ongoing works will contribute to increasing the road's capacity to more than 200,000 vehicles per day, and enhancing connectivity between vital axes in north Riyadh, which will positively impact traffic flow and reduce travel time.

The section currently being implemented from the Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road development project at its intersection with the Northern Ring Road extends for more than 3 kilometers, and includes the development of road lanes and raising the level of service through advanced engineering solutions aimed at improving the mobility experience and enhancing the efficiency of the road network in the capital.

The implementation of these works comes within the Commission's ongoing efforts to address traffic bottlenecks and enhance connectivity between main axes and vital areas, in line with the rapid urban and population growth witnessed by Riyadh.

The project is one of the components of the program for developing ring and main road axes in Riyadh, which includes implementing and developing more than 500 kilometers of road network, by improving the efficiency of existing axes, creating new roads, and enhancing integration between them; in support of building an integrated and sustainable urban transport system and achieving quality of life targets in the capital.

The program also includes the development of a number of bridges, tunnels, and major intersections; with the aim of increasing the capacity of the road network, improving traffic flow, and supporting integration with the public transport system in Riyadh; in line with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing advanced and sustainable infrastructure that supports economic and urban growth.
