The Saudi Technical Institute for Railways (SARB) announced the opening of registration for high school graduates to enroll in a diploma program leading to employment with the Saudi Railways Company (SAR), as part of programs to qualify national cadres to work in the transport and railway sector.

The institute explained that the program extends for two years, followed by six months of on-the-job training at SAR, with trainees to be employed upon successful completion of the program.

Accepted candidates receive a monthly allowance of 2,000 riyals during the first year, rising to 3,000 riyals during the second year, in addition to social insurance registration, comprehensive medical insurance throughout the training period, as well as the opportunity for direct employment at the company after completing the program.

The institute stipulated that the applicant must be a Saudi national, hold a high school diploma (science track) with a grade of no less than 80%, achieve 70% or higher in the General Aptitude Test, not exceed 23 years of age, and pass the medical examination, admission test, and personal interview.

The program covers four main specializations:

Train maintenance.

Carriage and locomotive maintenance.

Signals, communications, and control.

Infrastructure maintenance.

The institute indicated that applications began today, Sunday, June 28, 2026, and continue until Saturday, July 11, 2026, while the training program starts on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the institute's headquarters in Buraydah.

The program comes within the framework of supporting the localization of jobs in the transport and railway sector, and preparing qualified national cadres to contribute to the operation and development of one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Kingdom, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
