"Environmental Compliance": Treatment of Water from Aquaculture Projects is Mandatory to Protect Natural Resources
The National Center for Environmental Compliance confirmed that treating water resulting from the operation of aquaculture projects is one of the mandatory environmental compliance requirements for facilities, given the pollutants that this water may carry, which negatively affect aquatic environments and soil when discharged without proper treatment.
The center explained that adhering to the treatment of operational water helps reduce the transfer of pollutants to the surrounding environment, thereby enhancing the protection of natural resources and reducing the environmental impacts resulting from aquaculture activities.
The center stressed the necessity for all facilities to comply with approved environmental requirements and to treat the water resulting from operation before discharging it, ensuring the sustainability of these activities and preserving the safety of the environment and the quality of its natural resources.
