Jazan 28 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH corresponding to June 14, 2026 SPA The Jazan region is characterized by a rich plant diversity comprising more than 163 species of native plants, which contribute to enhancing ecological balance and preserving biodiversity, as well as supporting efforts to develop vegetation cover and achieve environmental sustainability. Native plants are considered important natural resources in the region due to their ability to adapt to various climatic conditions and their low water requirements compared to alien species, making them a key element in afforestation and environmental conservation programs. Among the most prominent native plants widespread in Jazan are: Arak, Um Ghilan, Sidr, Samar, Dhabyah, Sarh, Athb, Humayd, Dhabr, Awsaj, Qatf, and other species that form part of the region's natural heritage.
