Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh today Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.

Following the reception, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya held the first meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultation Committee; with the aim of developing relations between the two friendly countries, raising the level of coordination and consultation between them to serve their common interests, and contributing to supporting the security and stability of the region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, three memorandums of understanding were signed. The first: a memorandum of understanding in the field of encouraging direct investment, signed by the Saudi side by Minister of Investment Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif, and by the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The second: a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed by the Saudi side by His Excellency Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Engineer Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, and by the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The third memorandum: a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation, signed by the Saudi side by His Excellency CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank, Engineer Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalb, and by the Kenyan side by the Director General of the Kenya Development Corporation, Dr. Nora Ratemo.

Also, an agreement was signed on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan labor, signed by the Saudi side by Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and by the Kenyan side by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Dr. Alfred Nganya Mutua.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Walid Al-Khuraiji, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya, Saad Al-Nafeai, and Director General of the General Administration of African Countries, Saqr Al-Qurashi.
