His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today in Muscat with His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, they reviewed the close fraternal relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and ways to enhance and develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries, raises the level of bilateral cooperation, and advances the course of joint Gulf action.

Following the meeting, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman held an official talks session, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, in a way that supports common interests and strengthens the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments, and exchanged views on issues of common interest, foremost among them developments related to the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the importance of maintaining the security of waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation in them, and supporting efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region, and resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means. The session also addressed a number of joint strategic projects, most notably the land port project between the two countries, in addition to discussing cooperation in the fields of transportation networks and logistical linkage, contributing to strengthening connectivity between the two countries and supporting regional integration. The two sides also explored opportunities to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation, encouraging public-private partnerships, and taking advantage of promising opportunities in sectors of common interest, in order to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries and elevate the level of bilateral cooperation to broader horizons. The session was attended by His Excellency Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services; Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al-Sati, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Engineer Majid bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy for Petroleum and Gas Affairs; Mr. Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Sultanate of Oman; and Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
