The General Authority of Awqaf, as part of the Kingdom’s official delegation, is participating in the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the United Nations in New York, to highlight the Saudi endowment experience, include endowment contributions for the first time in the national voluntary review, and organize a roundtable on the role of endowments in financing development.

The General Authority of Awqaf, as part of the Kingdom’s official delegation, is participating in the work of the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations in New York City from July 7 to 15, as part of the Kingdom’s active international presence in sustainable development platforms and in line with the goals of Vision 2030.

This participation extends the Kingdom’s role in strengthening international partnerships and exchanging development expertise, as the Authority seeks to highlight the Saudi endowment experience as a national model supporting sustainable development, and to enhance the presence of the endowment sector within the national system to achieve its goals, reflecting the contributions of endowments in economic, social, and developmental fields.

The participation includes highlighting endowment contributions for the first time in the Kingdom’s National Voluntary Review for 2026, along with organizing a roundtable at the headquarters of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to review the Saudi endowment experience and shed light on the role of endowments in financing development.

The roundtable will include presenting the Endowment Excellence Index as a Saudi model for measuring the performance of endowment entities, and discussing opportunities for its application at the international level.

The participation also includes holding bilateral meetings with UN programs and relevant endowment and international entities to explore opportunities for cooperation, exchange expertise, and enhance partnerships supporting the development of the endowment sector, thereby consolidating the Kingdom’s presence in sustainable development pathways and highlighting the Saudi endowment as a sustainable development model with local and international impact.

The General Authority of Awqaf works to enhance the endowment sector, its governance, and development by launching innovative endowment products and services, applying best practices, and enacting regulations and laws that ensure the advancement and empowerment of endowment work, maximizing its impact on economic and social development.
