The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority has completed its preparations for the sixth edition of the Al-Armah season, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the ecotourism system and enhance the readiness of services provided to visitors and ecotourism service providers in the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve and the King Khalid Royal Reserve.

The preparations included the launch of a platform for managing licenses for ecotourism activities, which aims to develop the operational licensing system for ecotourism activities, improve the efficiency of procedures, and enhance digital governance, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The platform provides a unified digital pathway for ecotourism service providers, enabling them to apply for and manage licenses electronically, starting from account creation and reviewing requirements, through entering facility data, attaching documents, and defining the scope of activities, to submitting the application and tracking it at all stages with ease and convenience. It offers integrated digital services including issuing and renewing licenses, submitting operational reports, and facilitating direct communication with the authority. The authority also held a workshop as part of the initiative to empower tourism destination management companies in the reserves under the authority, in cooperation with the Saudi Tourism Authority, during which a mechanism was developed to qualify tourism destination management companies to work within the authority's ecotourism system, contributing to raising the readiness of operational partners, enhancing the quality of services provided to visitors, and developing ecotourism experiences according to best practices and approved standards.

Within the framework of enhancing environmental sustainability, the authority organized a specialized workshop to introduce the environmental management plan for ecotourism service providers in the two reserves, to raise the level of compliance with environmental and operational requirements, and enhance the application of best practices that contribute to preserving natural resources and biodiversity.

The authority concluded its preparations by holding a final workshop for the fifth Al-Armah season, with the participation of ecotourism service providers, during which the main outcomes of the season were reviewed, and development opportunities and recommendations that contribute to improving the visitor experience during the sixth season were discussed.

The authority stressed that completing these preparations is an important step towards enhancing the readiness of the sixth Al-Armah season, and supports the development of the ecotourism system, raising the efficiency of services provided, and strengthening partnership with investors and service providers, contributing to providing a sustainable ecotourism experience that reflects the unique natural value of the royal reserves and aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
