Imam of the Grand Mosque: God's Presence with Believers is the Best Provision and Most Excellent Sustenance in Life's Journey
Sheikh Dr. Osama bin Abdullah Khayyat, Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque, urged Muslims to fear God and follow the path of every pious and repentant person, taking from this world for their afterlife, seeking the pleasure of their Lord and Master, preferring Him over their own desires and whims.
In his sermon today at the Grand Mosque, His Eminence said: On the paths of life, amid its distractions and frivolities, and in the face of its gifts, calamities, and hardships, a person feels the need for someone to support them, strengthen their resolve, bolster their determination, rely on their help, and find reassurance in their care. The higher the rank of the supporter and helper, the more evident their strength and trustworthiness, the greater the descent of tranquility, the arrival of reassurance, and the attainment of security.
His Eminence explained that God's presence with believers is the best provision and the most excellent sustenance accompanying them on life's journey, comforting them on their way to God and the Hereafter.
His Eminence noted that the Holy Quran narrates in this context the story of the Chosen One (peace be upon him) with his people during the noble Hijra event, which contains endless manifestations of the effects of God's presence with His saints, with no limit to its extent.
Sheikh Osama Khayyat affirmed that whenever God is with a servant, hardships become easy, and fears turn into safety for them. By God, every difficulty is eased, every hardship is facilitated, every distant thing is brought near, and by God, worries, grief, and sorrows vanish. With God, there is no worry, no grief, and no sorrow.
His Eminence concluded the sermon saying: God's presence with His servants is not merely the presence of knowledge and awareness of deeds and intentions, but also the presence of support, protection, and reinforcement. When a believer feels that God is with them, they believe that they are connected to God's invincible power and aided by God's inexhaustible supply. Then they become strong over themselves, strong over their troubles, and strong over their desires and enemies.
