In 9 Languages: One Million Awareness Brochures Handed to Pilgrims in Mina to Facilitate Movement and Stoning of the Jamarat

As part of its efforts to raise awareness and enhance organizational safety during the Hajj season, the company 'Kedana for Development and Investment' – the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites – has distributed one million awareness brochures to the guests of the Most Gracious, in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, as part of a comprehensive plan for guidance and direction in the Mina tent city.

This initiative aims to educate pilgrims on the mechanisms of stoning the Jamarat and safe movement within the Jamarat facility. The brochures were designed in 9 languages to suit different nationalities and cultures, and contained guidelines on the unified path system and the importance of following directional signs inside the facility to avoid crowding and ensure smooth flow. The brochure also highlighted the importance of adhering to the specified scheduling times, avoiding heavy luggage or sitting on the roads leading to the Jamarat, in order to provide maximum safety and ease while performing this ritual.

The brochure also included a detailed description of the 'Toward Mina' project – one of the spatial guidance projects – which aims to facilitate the pilgrim's access to his camp through practical steps starting from recording the camp's color and number, taking a picture of the entrance gate data, then following the directional signs and colored pillars, up to laser lighting pillars that indicate camp locations from a distance. Each floor in the Jamarat facility was also assigned a color matching the area to guide pilgrims to the correct path.

This effort is part of 'Kedana’s vision to provide a quality and safe Hajj experience, in integration with government agencies, ensuring pilgrims’ compliance with the instructions stipulated in the Hajj plan, helping them perform the rituals with ease and reassurance, and at the same time reflecting a civilized image of the crowd management system in the Kingdom.
