Jeddah Municipality seized 230 random stalls in Al-Khumra neighborhood south of the city, and confiscated quantities of clothes and hardware, in a field campaign carried out by the Southern Sub-Municipality with the participation of relevant authorities, as part of the efforts of the committee to prevent the spread of unauthorized street vendors and beggars.
The campaign aimed to monitor and remove manifestations of random selling, reduce illegal practices that negatively affect the urban landscape, and enhance compliance with regulations and instructions.
During the campaign, about 362 tons of waste were collected and transported to the municipality's landfill, in addition to delivering 14 truckloads to the Southern Sub-Municipality to be forwarded to charities according to procedures.
The participating security authorities dealt with 33 violators among street vendors, taking legal measures against them, within the framework of integration between government agencies to enhance public order.
Jeddah Municipality affirmed its continuation of inspection campaigns in coordination with relevant authorities, contributing to improving quality of life, preserving the urban landscape, protecting public health, and preparing a safe and organized environment for residents and visitors.
The municipality called on residents to cooperate and report manifestations of random selling and illegal practices through official channels to reduce these violations.
