Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, participated in the launch event of the Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Services Sector Resilience Index (GWSRI), organized by UNICEF and its partners at the UN headquarters in New York. In his speech on behalf of the Kingdom, Ambassador Al-Wasil welcomed the launch of the index, commending the efforts of UNICEF and its partners, emphasizing that strengthening the resilience of water systems has become a necessity in light of challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and growing crises. He affirmed that water security is a national priority for the Kingdom under Vision 2030, noting that investment in infrastructure, innovation, and proactive planning enhances the sustainability of water services. He stressed the importance of international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and partnerships to support water security and achieve sustainable development goals.
