King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has established (15) solar-powered, fully equipped artesian wells in the overcrowded areas of displaced people in the localities of Merowe, Ed Debba, Al Buraiq, and Dongola in the Northern State of the Republic of Sudan, to provide safe and sustainable water sources for the most needy communities, reduce the suffering of residents due to water scarcity, enhance water security, and improve quality of life.

Each watering station consists of a groundwater well, a submersible pump with accessories, a water tank with a capacity of (50) cubic meters, and a secure protective fence according to international safety specifications, and operates on solar energy.

The stations benefit (150,000) people, including (75,000) children, contributing to providing drinking water safe for human consumption, reducing waterborne diseases, and enhancing the sustainability of water services in Sudan. These efforts are provided by the Kingdom, represented by the King Salman Center for Relief, to support the water sector, enhance its capabilities, and meet the basic needs of beneficiary communities.
