Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the statements of the so-called military spokesperson of the Houthi terrorist militia regarding the accusation of Saudi Arabia with blockading the Yemeni people and banning maritime navigation on them.

In a statement by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, it reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council states. Kuwait called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, stressing that freedom of navigation

in international waterways is a right guaranteed by the rules of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982.
