The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah region continues to implement the tenth regulatory and awareness campaign on livestock markets, aiming to enhance compliance with health and veterinary requirements, protect consumers, and preserve livestock wealth, contributing to food security and improving service quality in public utility markets.

The campaign, which began at the start of this July under the slogan 'Regulation and Awareness to Enhance Compliance in Livestock Markets,' is being implemented as part of a national program covering various regions of the Kingdom, combining regulatory tours and awareness programs to reduce violations and raise the level of compliance with approved regulations and requirements.

The Director General of the Ministry's branch in the Makkah region, Engineer Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Daghis, explained that the campaign aims to establish an effective regulatory system that ensures the safe handling of livestock through field tours conducted by regulatory teams in the region's governorates in cooperation with relevant authorities, to verify the application of legal, health, and veterinary requirements, and to address observations immediately.

He pointed out that the campaign includes awareness programs targeting livestock owners, sellers, and market workers, to familiarize them with the requirements for legal transport and display and veterinary health standards, contributing to raising awareness, enhancing compliance, and improving the efficiency of livestock markets, calling on workers in livestock markets and slaughterhouses to cooperate with the regulatory teams.
