The final qualifiers of the local competition for the King Salman Award for the Memorization of the Holy Qur'an saw a distinguished presence of parents supporting their children. The final qualifiers of the local competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Qur'an for boys and girls in its 27th edition, organized and supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in Riyadh, are witnessing a notable attendance of parents who are keen to accompany their participating sons and daughters to support and encourage them in this Qur'anic competition.
In this context, Yusuf bin Rashdan, father of contestant Abdulrahman participating in the sixth branch (memorization of five parts), addressed a message to parents urging them to encourage their children to memorize the Holy Qur'an, stressing that 'the greatest prize is the memorization of the Qur'an itself.'
In his remarks to 'Sabq,' he explained that the greatest victory a father can achieve is to see his son memorizing the Book of Allah, pointing out that his son began his memorization journey with personal desire, supported by family interest and continuous educational follow-up, which had a significant impact in consolidating and enhancing memorization.
He added: 'We praise Allah Almighty, thank those in charge of memorization circles, and appreciate the support of our wise leadership for the Holy Qur'an and its people,' affirming that the great attention the Kingdom pays to the Book of Allah is reflected in the quality of the competition's organization and the growing demand for participation year after year.
He concluded with a frank call to every father and mother, saying: 'Encourage your children to memorize the Qur'an... it is the greatest prize, and it is the true provision in this world and the Hereafter.'
