The General Directorate of Passports announced the availability of the residence ID renewal service for domestic workers for a period of one or two years via the Absher platform, confirming that the official announcement will be made once the service is updated.

Residence ID Renewal for Domestic Workers

The Passports Directorate clarified that the validity of the residence ID card is 5 years from the date of issuance, and it is renewed annually electronically via the Absher platform by the employer.

The Passports Directorate stated that the residence ID can be renewed for domestic workers if the validity is less than 14 months, while for commercial workers, the remaining period must be less than 6 months, provided that a valid work permit and health insurance document are available.

The residence renewal service via Absher allows individuals to renew the residence ID for family members or domestic workers electronically by following steps that include logging in to the Absher platform, selecting the sponsored persons services, then choosing the required worker and renewing the residence after confirmation.
