The unified national admissions platform 'Qaboul' closes its application window for universities and technical colleges for the academic year 1448 AH on Saturday, amid calls from parents to extend the deadline until Tuesday to give students additional time to arrange their preferences.

Starting Sunday, July 19, the platform will begin the second phase of admissions procedures. This phase involves male and female applicants confirming their final choice of one preference according to the approved timetable.

The platform stressed the importance of applicants logging into their accounts during the confirmation period to finalize their preference. It warned that failure to confirm the preference within the specified period will result in the immediate cancellation of the reserved seat and its availability to others.

Unconfirmed seats will be made available for general admission starting from August 3. This procedure provides a new opportunity for applicants to benefit from vacant seats according to official admissions rules and mechanisms. Meanwhile, a number of parents have called on the relevant authorities to extend the application period until next Tuesday. They explained that this extension would give families additional time to carefully review preferences given the variety of specializations and universities.

Parents noted that approving the extension would directly help reduce psychological stress on applicants. They added that this would allow students to make more suitable decisions that shape their academic and professional futures. The 'Qaboul' platform called on all graduates to closely follow the announced deadlines to ensure successful completion of admissions procedures. It emphasized the need to avoid losing the study opportunity due to delays in confirming preferences within the specified time.
