A new achievement for the association team by completing the Training of Trainers (TOT) program on the rights of persons with disabilities. The Saudi Alzheimer's Association participated in the “Training of Trainers” program on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities organized by the Human Rights Commission in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Riyadh, with the participation of association representatives from the Health Education and Patient and Family Care Department. The training program lasted for five consecutive days, starting from June 28, 2026, with the aim of preparing specialized national cadres in the field of training on the rights of persons with disabilities. The program included a review of the texts and principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in addition to relevant Saudi regulations, within a framework that reflects the progress and attention the Kingdom is witnessing in empowering persons with disabilities and promoting their rights in accordance with international standards. The program also included practical sessions covering various training techniques and methods, during which association representatives delivered training sessions that were evaluated by independent experts at the conclusion of the program. This participation is an extension of the association's commitment to promoting a rights-based approach in its services, and establishing the principles of inclusion and empowerment for people with dementia and their families, contributing to ensuring they receive their rights and services according to best national and international practices and standards. On this occasion, the Saudi Alzheimer's Association extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Human Rights Commission for its appreciated efforts in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom, and for providing the opportunity to participate in this qualitative program that contributes to building national capacities and spreading a culture of the rights of persons with disabilities. The association allows communication to benefit from its services via phone (0112443092) or through its social media accounts @saudialzheimer, in addition to its website www.alz.org.sa and the association's headquarters.
