Saudi Arabia's Urban Development Experience on the Table of a UN Meeting
The Kingdom, through its delegation led by Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid Al-Hogail, is showcasing its achievements in urban development under the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, during the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the New Urban Agenda, organized by the United Nations at its headquarters in New York.
The Kingdom's participation comes within the framework of its active presence in international forums concerned with sustainable development, and showcasing the enhancement of urban infrastructure efficiency, improving quality of life, developing the built environment, and building more sustainable cities capable of supporting economic growth in Saudi cities.
Enhancing integration between urban planning, economy, and quality of life
The Kingdom's speech focuses on presenting the Saudi experience in urban development and the role of cities in supporting sustainable development, enhancing integration between urban planning, economy, and quality of life in line with global sustainable development goals, in addition to reviewing the progress report on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda submitted by the Kingdom.
The Kingdom's participation in the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the New Urban Agenda reaffirms its commitment to the international agenda on development and its continued contribution to international efforts aimed at building sustainable cities and exchanging experiences and expertise.
