Saudi-Omani Official Talks Session

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today in Muscat with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.

During the meeting, they reviewed the close fraternal relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and ways to strengthen and develop them to serve the mutual interests of both countries, enhance the level of bilateral cooperation, and advance the joint Gulf action.

Following the meeting, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman held an official talks session, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, supporting common interests and strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

The two sides also discussed developments in regional and international situations and exchanged views on issues of common interest, foremost of which is developments related to the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the importance of maintaining the security of waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation, supporting efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, and resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.

The session also addressed a number of joint strategic projects, foremost of which is the land border crossing project between the two countries, in addition to discussing cooperation in the fields of transport networks and logistical connectivity, contributing to strengthening the interconnection between the two countries and supporting regional integration.

The two sides also explored opportunities to expand economic, trade and investment cooperation, encourage public-private partnerships, and benefit from promising opportunities in sectors of common interest, fulfilling the aspirations of the two countries' leaderships and elevating the level of bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.

The session was attended by His Excellency Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics; Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al-Sati, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Engineer Majid bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy for Petroleum and Gas; the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan; and Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
