Science and Technology / SDAIA Promotes Responsible AI Innovation in Education through 'AI SandboX' Initiative

Riyadh, Muharram 17, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 02, 2026, SPA - The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has promoted responsible innovation in education within the Artificial Intelligence Sandbox for Digital Education initiative 'AI SandboX,' led by the National Center for E-Learning through an integrated national system, as part of its ongoing efforts to support the responsible use of artificial intelligence in vital sectors.

SDAIA contributed to the three phases of the initiative by participating in arbitration, providing technical and advisory opinions to participating teams, supporting the development of AI-based educational solutions and testing them in safe and realistic environments, and enhancing their readiness for broader application.

This participation comes within the framework of SDAIA's role in supporting the responsible use of artificial intelligence and aligning technical solutions with national priorities in education and digital transformation, enhancing the Kingdom's status as an international model in responsible educational innovation.

The initiative has received international recognition, as the World Bank documented the Kingdom's experience in employing artificial intelligence in education, affirming that it represents a pioneering national model that countries and educational systems can benefit from in developing responsible innovation and enhancing the quality of digital education. This was stated in a study issued by the World Bank titled: 'Artificial Intelligence Sandbox for Digital Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Driving Social and Economic Impact through AI Innovation in Education.'
