Riyadh, Muharram 24, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 9, 2026, SPA. Abha International Airport - one of the airports under the Second Airports Cluster - achieved a new record in the number of flights in a single day, after the number of flights exceeded 130 flights on July 5, 2026. The cluster stated that the total flights at the airport included 117 domestic flights and 15 international flights in one day, achieving the highest daily operational figure in its history. The Second Airports Cluster noted that the rapid growth witnessed by Abha International Airport is due to the increasing demand for travel and the efficiency of the operational system in absorbing this momentum during peak seasons, coinciding with the region’s events and natural and cultural attractions that draw increasing numbers of visitors during the summer season. The cluster affirmed that these figures contribute to achieving the objectives of the Aviation Program emanating from the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aimed at raising the operational capacity of airports and improving service quality according to the highest standards. // End // 10:45 T M 0032
