Abu Dhabi, 12th February / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (May God preserve him), today received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, who is on a fraternal visit to the country.

During the meeting, which took place at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two sides exchanged friendly fraternal conversations and greetings on the occasion of the approaching holy month of Ramadan, praying to Almighty Allah to make it a month of goodness and blessings for both countries and their peoples.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Bahrain conveyed to His Highness the President the greetings of his brother His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and his wishes for the UAE and its people for continued progress and prosperity. In return, His Highness sent his greetings to His Majesty and his wishes for further progress and growth for Bahrain and its brotherly people.

The meeting touched on the deep-rooted historical ties that bind the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the joint work to continue strengthening them in a way that serves mutual interests and brings good to the peoples of the two countries.

In this context, both sides affirmed the continuous development of UAE-Bahraini relations at various levels and the mutual keenness to advance them, especially in areas that serve the development priorities of the two countries and enhance their aspirations for a more prosperous future. They also discussed a number of issues and topics of common interest and exchanged views on them.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of Zayed Charitable Foundation; H.H. Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs' Families Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, along with a number of sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials of the UAE.

Also present was the delegation accompanying His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Bahrain, which includes H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister; Field Marshal H.E. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior; H.H. Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court; and H.E. Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, along with a number of sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Bahrain had arrived in the country earlier today, where he and his accompanying delegation were received at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi by Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of ministers and senior officials.
