The Ministry of Finance has monitored practices violating the Government Competition and Procurement System and its executive regulations, which may result in unjustified financial claims arising from actions that contravene the Government Competition and Procurement System.

In a letter addressed to the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the Ministry cited examples of such practices, including commencing execution before the award decision and completion of contracting procedures by the government entity, executing works and procurements based on verbal authorization, performing work outside the scope of the contract unless the statutory procedures are completed by the government entity, and other practices violating the system.

To avoid potential disputes with government entities and the resulting financial claims and grievances frequently submitted to the Ministry of Finance that may affect the disbursement of these entitlements, the Federation urged the Contractors Committee and relevant stakeholders in the contracting sector to comply with the provisions of the Government Competition and Procurement System and its executive regulations, thereby contributing to reducing violations and avoiding consequent financial claims or grievances, and preserving the rights of all parties.
