Al-Budaiwi calls on international community to take firm stance against Iranian attacks
GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi condemned Iran's targeting of Saudi and Qatari tankers as a dangerous escalation, urging a firm international response. Saudi Arabia also condemned the attacks as violations of international law.
The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation and denunciation of Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (Wadyan) during its crossing of the Strait of Hormuz, and the Qatari tanker (Al-Rakiyat), stressing that this constitutes a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a firm and deterrent stance against these repeated Iranian attacks, in order to preserve regional and international security and peace, and prevent the recurrence of such hostile acts that threaten the stability of the region.

The Secretary General stressed the full solidarity of the GCC states with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar, and their support for all measures being taken to protect and safeguard their national interests.
Saudi Arabia condemns targeting of the two tankers
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strongest condemnation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (Wadyan) during its crossing of the Strait of Hormuz, and its targeting of the Qatari tanker (Al-Rakiyat), affirming that these unacceptable attacks are an assault on the security and safety of international navigation and on the security of global energy supplies. The ministry said in a statement: 'The Kingdom affirms that Iran's continued perpetration of these attacks is a grave violation of international law and norms, and of UN Security Council resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and safe passage through sea lanes, and stresses its demand that Iran immediately cease all acts that threaten the security of the region, the safety of international navigation, and energy supplies, and affirms holding Iran fully responsible for these attacks and all their damages and repercussions.'
