The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the targeting of US radars in Bubiyan Island and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

This was stated in a statement by the Revolutionary Guard on Tuesday regarding the 24th wave of Operation 'Nasr 2'.

The statement clarified that the US radars located in Bubiyan Island and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait were targeted.

Earlier on Tuesday, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army had announced that its air defenses repelled missile and drone attacks following the 'Iranian aggression', calling on residents to comply with security instructions, as Kuwait announced it had faced two waves of attacks within about 16 hours.

For its part, the Kuwaiti Cabinet condemned the Iranian missile and drone attacks, stating according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that they targeted two power stations, oil and vital facilities, civilian infrastructure, and residential buildings, causing fires and severe damage, which it considered 'a blatant violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity'.

For days, the United States has been launching successive waves of strikes on sites inside Iran, while Tehran responds with attacks on military bases and facilities and sites it says are linked to Washington in regional countries, including Bahrain and Kuwait.

The escalation comes despite Washington and Tehran signing a memorandum of understanding in June that included a cessation of hostilities and the start of negotiations to reach a broader agreement.

However, US President Donald Trump announced on July 8 the end of the ceasefire, following attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz that Washington accused Tehran of being behind, prompting the United States to resume its strikes inside Iran amid escalating Iranian responses in the region.

Washington demands that Tehran stop attacking ships and ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran insists on subjecting the passage of ships to a mechanism it regulates through the strategic corridor, exacerbating fears of disruption to oil and gas exports from the region.
