Kuwait's Fire Service Directorate announced on Friday that it had controlled two fires that broke out in two different locations in the south of the country as a result of being targeted in Iranian attacks, confirming no casualties.
This comes after the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity announced on Friday morning that one of the 'Electrical Power and Water Distillation' plants was subjected to an Iranian attack, leading to a fire and damage to a number of power generation units.
The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate said in a statement on X platform that firefighting teams managed, on Friday morning, to control two fires that broke out in two different locations in the south of the country.
It explained that 6 firefighting teams participated in dealing with the first fire, supported by teams from the Kuwaiti Army and the National Guard, while 3 firefighting teams participated in extinguishing the second fire.
The directorate's spokesperson, Brigadier General Muhammad Badr Ibrahim, confirmed that the firefighting teams began dealing with the two fires immediately upon arrival at the two sites, without recording any casualties, according to the statement.
He indicated that the losses were limited to material damage, without providing additional details about the nature of the two sites or the extent of the damage.
The attack comes a day after the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced the interception of 32 hostile drones that entered the country's airspace, saying that Iranian attacks targeted a number of vital facilities, resulting in material damage without casualties.
Kuwait, along with other Arab countries, has been subjected to Iranian attacks in recent days, which Tehran says come in response to US strikes and targeting of Washington's interests and allies in the region.
This comes amid continued escalation between the United States and Iran, despite the two sides signing a memorandum of understanding on June 18 last to cease fire, before Washington announced on July 8 this year the end of the truce following renewed clashes.
