The Ministry of Interior issued a statement today regarding the execution of a criminal in the Tabuk region. The text follows: God Almighty said: "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation." And He said: "And do not seek corruption in the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters." And He said: "And Allah does not like corruption." And He said: "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment." Abdulrahim Ibrahim Abdulrahim Saleh Darwish (Egyptian nationality) smuggled amphetamine pills into the Kingdom. By the grace of God, security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned criminal. Investigation led to charges against him for committing the crime. He was referred to the competent court, which issued a verdict convicting him of the charges and sentencing him to execution. The verdict became final after appeal and was upheld by the Supreme Court. A royal order was issued to enforce the legally determined punishment. The execution was carried out on Saturday, 4/2/1448 AH, corresponding to 18/7/2026 AD, in the Tabuk region. The Ministry of Interior announces this to affirm the Saudi government's commitment to protecting the security of citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and to impose the harshest penalties prescribed by law on smugglers and distributors, given the loss of innocent lives and the severe corruption of youth, individuals, and society, and the violation of their rights. It also warns anyone who engages in such activities that the legal punishment will be their fate. God guides to the right path.
