Saudi-Omani Emphasis on Importance of Maintaining Security of Waterways

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday in Muscat with His Excellency Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, the close fraternal relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples were reviewed, along with ways to enhance and develop them to serve the mutual interests of the two countries, raise the level of bilateral cooperation, and boost the joint Gulf action process.
Following the meeting, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman held an official talks session, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, supporting common interests and strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments, exchanged views on issues of common interest, most notably developments related to the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the importance of maintaining the security of waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation in them, and supporting efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and resolve conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
The session covered a number of joint strategic projects, foremost of which is the land port project between the two countries, in addition to discussing cooperation in the fields of transport networks and logistical connectivity, contributing to enhancing connectivity between the two countries and supporting regional integration.
The two sides also explored opportunities to expand economic, trade and investment cooperation, encourage public-private partnerships, and benefit from promising opportunities in sectors of common interest, fulfilling the aspirations of the two countries' leaderships and elevating bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.
The session was attended by His Excellency Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services; Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al Sati, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Eng. Majed bin Abdullah Al Otaibi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy for Petroleum and Gas Affairs; the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ibrahim bin Saad bin Baishan; and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Radwan.
