Bahrain's Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday the sounding of sirens in several areas, calling on citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place as a precautionary measure.

The ministry emphasized the importance of following updates and instructions issued through official channels, and adhering to the announced guidelines from the competent authorities to ensure public safety.

This comes after the Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatened to retaliate against the U.S. attack on its soil, as American forces began conducting additional military strikes against Iran.

The Central Command said in a social media post that the strikes began Tuesday afternoon Eastern Time.

These strikes come as the United States prepares to reimpose a blockade on Iranian navigation after Tehran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Central Command reported that the U.S. blockade is expected to begin at exactly 20:00 GMT.
