Iraq: We will not be a launchpad for targeting neighboring countries

The Joint Operations Command in Iraq affirmed that Iraqi territory will not be a launchpad for targeting any neighboring country or others, stressing the importance of respecting Iraq's sovereignty, security, and stability.

The command clarified in a statement issued after a meeting held today that the attendees discussed ways to maintain security gains, secure vital targets and international borders with neighboring countries, in addition to protecting diplomatic missions.

The statement emphasized that Iraq will not be a launchpad for targeting any country, in return for the necessity of respecting its sovereignty, security, and stability.

The Joint Operations Command stressed the importance of dealing firmly with any attempt to confuse the situation, disrupt internal security, or harm Iraq's relations with neighboring countries and its regional surroundings.
