The Ministry of Interior affirmed that by announcing this, it emphasizes the Saudi government's commitment to protecting the security of citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and to imposing the strictest penalties prescribed by law on drug smugglers and pushers, given the loss of innocent lives, serious corruption of youth, individuals, and society, and violation of their rights.
