Bahrain condemns Iranian attacks on its territory and Gulf countries, calls for international action
The ministry stated, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), that these attacks represent a dangerous escalation threatening civilian safety and regional security and stability, and constitute a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and principles of good neighborliness.
The ministry pointed out Bahrain's full solidarity with brotherly countries and its support for these countries' right to take all legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, in accordance with international law and Article (51) of the UN Charter, and the joint defense agreement of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
Call for deterring international action
In the same context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Bahrain's call on the international community, especially the Security Council, to take firm measures to oblige Iran to stop its hostile actions and ensure the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and to hold it fully responsible under relevant international laws and UN resolutions.
