Iran's Revolutionary Guard announces targeting of military base in Jordan, vows to continue 'Operation Revenge'
Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan with missiles and drones, confirming that the attack ignited fuel tanks and ammunition depots inside the base.
In a statement, the Guard said the strike represents "the first phase of the response" to US attacks that targeted Iranian bases and coastal sites, stressing that "Operation Revenge" will continue in the coming period.
In a related context, the Guard announced that its naval forces last night carried out an operation to stop two ships it described as "violators" in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing them of endangering commercial ships by disrupting their navigation systems.
This comes in response to the US military carrying out more strikes against targets inside Iran, confirming that the attacks, which began at 5:00 p.m. Eastern US time, aim to continue undermining Tehran's ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In contrast, Iran's official television reported hearing several explosions in various areas in the south of the country, including the city of Sirik near the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to other explosions west of the city of Bandar Abbas, Iran's largest port on the Gulf, and Qeshm and Jask islands.
