The Kuwaiti army announced on Sunday that air defenses intercepted 'hostile' missile and drone attacks, following a 'criminal Iranian aggression' on the country.

The General Staff of the Army said in a statement that 'Kuwaiti air defenses are currently intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks following the criminal Iranian aggression.'

It added that the sounds of explosions that may be heard in some areas result from the interception of 'hostile' attacks by air defense systems.

The General Staff called on citizens and residents to comply with safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities.

The statement did not provide additional details on the scale of the attacks or potential damage resulting from them.
