The High Criminal Court in Bahrain has decided to adjourn the trial of 19 defendants in a case involving the establishment of a terrorist group linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard to the session of July 12, 2026, to allow the defense team to review the case file and submit their arguments.

The Public Prosecutor and Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution explained that the case involves 19 defendants, including 11 in custody and 8 fugitives, noting that investigations revealed the defendants had established an organized group aimed at disrupting the provisions of the constitution and laws, preventing state institutions and authorities from performing their duties, harming national unity, and working to change the existing constitutional system in the kingdom through illegal means, while adopting and promoting the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih.

He added that investigations showed the defendants collected funds to finance the group's activities, in addition to accusing some of them of communicating with Iran and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and inciting the commission of terrorist acts, riots, and sabotage aimed at harming the kingdom's security and interests.

He pointed out that security forces arrested the defendants after obtaining the necessary legal authorizations, and also conducted searches of their residences, which resulted in the seizure of sums of money, as well as books, documents, and papers that the prosecution said are linked to the activities of the group under accusation, while the court continues to consider the case according to the applicable judicial procedures.
