The spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed that the Houthi militia's statements against the Kingdom aim to divert attention from their violations and the suffering of the Yemeni people, adding that the coalition will respond with unprecedented force to any targeting of the Kingdom or violation of Yemen's sovereignty, in accordance with international humanitarian law.
The official spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, affirmed that the recent statements by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia are nothing but an attempt to divert attention from their grave violations against the Yemeni people, noting that they seek through them to export the economic problems they have caused and cover up the tribal and social rejection they face internally.
Major General Al-Maliki explained that these claims come as an extension of the Houthi militia's ongoing escalation and hostile behavior, and their continuous attempts to undermine regional and international security, noting that Saudi Arabia, the coalition, and their international partners have made strenuous efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the Houthi coup, and worked to find a solution to the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap approved by the legitimate Yemeni government, but the Houthi militia rejected it.
Al-Maliki added that the Houthis went further by rejecting permanent peace solutions and launching attacks on maritime navigation and global trade routes in the southern Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb strait, as well as targeting Yemeni ports in Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Isa, and Sana'a International Airport, along with infrastructure such as power stations, factories, and vital economic components.
Major General Al-Maliki stressed that the coalition will firmly and with unprecedented force confront any attempts targeting Saudi Arabia, its citizens, or national assets, or that violate the sovereignty of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
