The Egyptian government revealed the truth behind the video clip circulated on social media, which claimed the presence of five extra passengers on board a plane exceeding the specified capacity, confirming that the incident is unrelated to Egyptian civil aviation.

The Media Center of the Egyptian Cabinet, in an official statement, explained that it contacted the Ministry of Civil Aviation to verify the authenticity of the video, where it was found that the plane appearing in the clip did not depart from Cairo International Airport, nor is it affiliated with any Egyptian airline.

The statement indicated that the flight in question was coming from one of the neighboring Arab countries, and was not a flight departing from Egypt, denying the validity of what was circulated about exceeding the capacity on board an Egyptian plane.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that all airlines operating in Egypt strictly adhere to the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and aviation safety standards, foremost of which is not exceeding the approved number of passengers on any aircraft.

It added that the competent authorities reviewed all technical and operational details related to the video as soon as it was circulated, confirming that any violation related to capacity is a serious violation that requires immediate investigation and necessary legal measures.

The Media Center of the Cabinet called on media outlets and social media users to ensure accuracy, rely on official data issued by the competent authorities, and refrain from circulating unverified information or video clips that may cause confusion or harm the civil aviation sector.

This clarification comes after the widespread circulation of the video, which claimed the presence of five extra passengers on board a plane, before Egyptian authorities confirmed that the incident does not concern any Egyptian flight, and that the plane in question came from a nearby Arab airport and is not linked to Cairo Airport or Egyptian airlines.
