Iraqi authorities issued new banking measures imposing sanctions on funding networks linked to Lebanese Hezbollah.

The Iraqi authorities also imposed sanctions on Hezbollah leader Mahmoud Qamati and Lebanese politician Suleiman Frangieh.

The decision, circulated by the Iraqi Ministry of Finance to banks and financial institutions, was based on the amended US Executive Order 13224, which targets individuals and entities accused of supporting or financing organizations classified as terrorist.
