The Israeli army carried out, on the night of Wednesday-Thursday, a series of demolition operations inside the town of Khiam, and an explosion operation in the town of Taybeh in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli army carried out, at night and dawn, a series of demolition operations inside the town of Khiam, whose echoes were heard in various areas of the south.

It added that a violent explosion echoed and shook the area, its source found to be the town of Khiam, followed by four similar explosions resulting from new demolition operations carried out by the Israeli army inside the town.

The Israeli army also carried out a new explosion operation in the town of Taybeh, concurrently with artillery shelling targeting the outskirts of the town of Deir Siryan.

The field escalation comes despite Lebanon and Israel signing a 'framework agreement' under American sponsorship on June 26, 2026, and a day after Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that a new round of talks between Lebanon and Israel would be held in the Italian capital Rome next week.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, in a statement, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the country had risen to 4,321 dead and 12,203 wounded since March 2, 2026.

Israel still occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades, and others since the war that took place between 2023 and 2024, while it advanced more than 10 kilometers inside Lebanese territory during the recent aggression.
