Kuwait's General Administration of Customs, represented by the Air Freight Customs Department, foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana, hidden inside a shipment arriving from the Kingdom of Thailand, whose documents indicated it contained a table and lighting.

The seizure came after suspicion of the shipment and subjecting it to precise customs inspection procedures, which revealed the narcotic substance hidden inside a box containing lighting decoration cartons, skillfully concealed beneath the cartons in a professional manner intended to disguise and circumvent customs procedures.

In coordination with the General Administration for Drug and Alcohol Control, the suspect of Indian nationality was arrested at the moment he received the shipment, and the necessary legal measures were taken against him, while the seizure reports are being prepared and the suspect and confiscated items are being referred to the competent authority to complete investigations.

The General Administration of Customs affirmed its continued intensification of inspection and control operations at all customs ports, and firmly confronting all attempts to smuggle prohibited substances, to preserve the security and safety of society.
