Minister of Interior discusses ways to enhance joint cooperation with his counterparts in the GCC states

Doha, March 12 (QNA) - His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), received today several phone calls from their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, in light of the Iranian aggression against the State of Qatar and the region and the related regional developments.

These calls focused on enhancing joint security coordination and unifying positions and efforts to confront any threat to the security and stability of the Gulf states, based on the principle of unified Gulf security, and to ensure the protection of the region.

His Excellency received phone calls from: Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the sisterly United Arab Emirates; His Excellency General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain; His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; His Excellency Mr. Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman; and His Excellency Sheikh Fahd Yusuf Saud Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the sisterly State of Kuwait.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior of the GCC states for their sincere fraternal feelings, commending the high level of coordination and close cooperation existing between the security agencies in the GCC states.
