The Pakistani army announced today the elimination of ten armed terrorist elements and the arrest of two women who were preparing to carry out suicide attacks, during a series of security operations conducted in Balochistan province, southwest Pakistan, as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

The Pakistani army's media wing said in a statement that security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, carried out several search and raid operations over the past 48 hours in the Surab and Mastung districts, as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad implemented under the National Action Plan against terrorism. The statement added that forces eliminated seven militants during an operation in Surab area, while another operation in Mastung district resulted in the elimination of three militants.

The army confirmed that search and pursuit operations are still ongoing in the targeted areas to track down any other elements, stressing that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their operations until the elimination of armed groups and their support networks.
