Political / GCC Secretary-General: Treacherous Iranian Attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan Constitute a Flagrant Violation of International Law and a Dangerous Escalation Threatening the Security and Stability of the Region
Riyadh, 24 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 09, 2026, SPA — His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, expressed his strongest condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming that the continuation of these attacks reflects an unacceptable escalatory approach, constitutes a flagrant violation of states' sovereignty, and a grave breach of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. His Excellency stressed that these hostile Iranian acts represent a direct threat to regional peace and security, undermine international efforts to establish stability and reduce tension, emphasizing that their continuation requires a firm and deterrent international stance to put an end to these irresponsible Iranian practices, and to ensure respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs.
