In the first week of the war, he lost his youngest daughter, his parents, and his sister along with her children and husband in an instant when their home was bombed on October 15, 2023. Our guest Mohammed Al-Tawil left the Gaza Strip a few weeks ago to accompany his wife and two children on their medical journey for injuries from the same bombing. Mohammed lived in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza and worked as a driver. His life was turned upside down by the war, and he found himself moving from one tent to another, carrying in his heart his suppressed grief for those he lost from his family. The responsibilities of displacement did not give him a chance to process or weep for the departed, as he had to, like the rest of Gaza's people, strive for a livelihood and a sip of water, so much so that he says the war changed the features of people. Mohammed recounts in the episode how life in Gaza became full of fear and suffering, and how this affected his children, and to this moment Mohammed has not yet processed the details of his long journey. #Gaza#Today#Nuseirat#War#Deir al-Balah#
