The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the commencement of a series of powerful military strikes against Iran, in a step it described as a firm response to Tehran's targeting of international commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM clarified that the strikes were in response to Iranian attacks that targeted three commercial vessels transiting the strait, noting that those ships were carrying innocent civilians working in commercial navigation.

The US command described the Iranian actions as 'unjustified and dangerous aggression,' stressing that they represent a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, and that the United States will impose heavy costs on Iran for targeting international navigation routes.
