Seven Palestinians from one family, including an elderly man and two children, were injured on Sunday in an attack by Israeli settlers in the village of Hawara in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron Governorate in the southern occupied West Bank.

Local sources told Anadolu that settlers attacked members of the Palestinian 'Al-Jabour' family while they were on their land near their home in the village, assaulting them by beating and spraying pepper spray at them.

The sources added that the attack resulted in seven Palestinians being injured with wounds, bruises, and cases of suffocation, including an elderly man and two children, who were transferred to Yatta Hospital.

A video circulating on social media platforms showed the moment one of the settlers attacked the elderly man Ibrahim al-Jabour while he was herding sheep, where the settler deliberately sprayed pepper spray in his face, causing him to fall to the ground amid screaming from children and members of his family.

Masafer Yatta is witnessing escalating Israeli violations and attacks that Palestinians say aim to target their presence in the area, as they face near-daily attacks by settlers under army protection, aimed at pressuring them to leave their lands and seize them.

According to a report by the Palestinian Commission against the Wall and Settlement, Israeli settlers carried out 3,488 attacks during the first half of 2026, including attacks on Palestinian communities, burning homes and vehicles, opening fire on Palestinians, seizing land, and establishing settlement outposts.

From October 8, 2023, to June 29 last year, the Israeli army and settlers' attacks in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of 1,179 Palestinians and injuries to about 13,000, in addition to the arrest of about 24,000, according to data from the Palestinian Government Media Office.
